Barnsley - Thurlstone Men

In St Saviour's Church, Thurlstone, there is a brass plaque commemorating 12 men who lost their lives in WW1. http://www.barnsleywarmemorials.org.uk/2014/04/thurlstone-st-saviours-church-memorial.html We have also found evidence that a Roll of Honour did exist in 1917 listing 120 men from the area who "joined the colours", however this has not yet been found. http://www.barnsleywarmemorials.org.uk/2014/04/thurlstone-st-saviours-church-roll-of.html ------------------ A book about the men from Thurlstone & Hoylandswaine who fell in WW1 has been produced by the Penistone History Group called, "The Fallen, Their Stories". -------------- If you are having trouble adding information to men in this Community on Lives of the First World War I would be happy to help. ----- Linda Hutton IWM Volunteer barnsleyhistorian@gmail.com
