Barnsley - Penistone Grammar School

The original of this memorial was a carved oak tablet associated with a memorial bookcase in the library of Penistone Grammar School which was unveiled in 1925 and contained 28 names within a laurel wreath. The current memorial, outside the new school, is a shiny metal plaque on a rustic light stone boulder and contains 28 WW1 names, 23 WW2 names and one from 2008. http://www.barnsleywarmemorials.org.uk/2014/02/penistone-grammar-school-old-boys.html --------------- If you are having trouble adding information to men in this Community on Lives of the First World War I would be happy to help. ----- Linda Hutton IWM Volunteer barnsleyhistorian@gmail.com
