Barnsley - Radical and Liberal Club

A cutting from the Barnsley Chronicle (with thanks to Barnsley Archives) on 27 December 1919 reported the unveiling of a Roll of Honour, 'a panel upon which is inscribed the names of the members who served in H.M. Forces, 127 in number, the panel being enclosed in a massive oak frame.' Eight of the members had not returned, two had won the military medal. Do you know where this memorial may have gone? The club no longer exists. http://www.barnsleywarmemorials.org.uk/2014/03/barnsley-radical-and-liberal-club.html -------------------- UPDATE September 2017 - this memorial has been found in an anonymous Barnsley businessman's house. Photographs have been taken and I am awaiting a full list of names. If you are having trouble adding information to men in this Community on Lives of the First World War I would be happy to help. ----- Linda Hutton IWM Volunteer barnsleyhistorian@gmail.com
