Barnsley - Hoyland Men

Hoyland War Memorial has been thoroughly researched by Peter Marsden and a group of local residents. It commemorates over 200 WW1 men and around 70 WW2 men http://members.shaw.ca/HWM_site/ In November 2014 nearly 200 additional names were added to the foot of the memorial. http://www.barnsleywarmemorials.org.uk/2014/12/hoyland-war-memorial-additional-names.html There is also a large Roll of Honour in Hoyland Library listing over 1500 names. There are memorials in the local churches too. For a full list see our index here: http://www.barnsleywarmemorials.org.uk/2014/05/war-memorials-h.html ------------- If you are having trouble adding information to men in this Community on Lives of the First World War I would be happy to help. ----- Linda Hutton IWM Volunteer barnsleyhistorian@gmail.com
