Barnsley - Gawber Men

A neighbouring parish to the central area of Barnsley, Gawber lies less than 2 miles from the town centre. The War Memorial in front of St Thomas' Church commemorates 16 WW1 and 20 WW2 names. It was dedicated in 1924 by the local schoolmaster who had also been the treasurer of the fund raised to erect it. http://www.barnsleywarmemorials.org.uk/2013/12/st-thomas-church-gawber-war-memorial.html ------------------- If you are having trouble adding information to men in this Community on Lives of the First World War I would be happy to help. ----- Linda Hutton IWM Volunteer barnsleyhistorian@gmail.com
