Barnsley - Men who Applied for the Tenancy of the Oaks Terrace Almshouses

In Barnsley Archives (http://www.experience-barnsley.com/archives-and-discovery-centre) there is a folder with letters and other information about the building of four almshouses for disabled servicemen post WW1. I wrote about my discovery here: http://barnsleyhistorian.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/when-is-terrace-not-terrace-oaks.html There are details of 32 applicants. I will not enter personal medical information here, but wish to draw relatives attention to the existence of this file so they can go and look up their ancestors themselves. ------------------------- If you are having trouble adding information to men in this Community on Lives of the First World War I would be happy to help. ----- Linda Hutton IWM Volunteer barnsleyhistorian@gmail.com
