Barnsley - Baptist Church, Sheffield Road - BAR36 and BAR75

The present church is a re-building of an older chapel which dates back to 1849. The memorial plaque (BAR36) names 19 men who gave their lives in the First World War. It is being researched by LT. A postcard found on E-bay in 2018 shows a Roll of Honour for this church (BAR75). It lists 27 men, but only includes 3 who are on the war memorial plaque. The only date information is 'European War 1914 - 1_ " at the foot. No men are indicated as having been killed. -------------- http://www.barnsleywarmemorials.org.uk/2014/01/barnsley-sheffield-road-baptist-chapel.html ------------------ If you are having trouble adding information to men in this Community on Lives of the First World War I would be happy to help. ----- Linda Hutton IWM Volunteer barnsleyhistorian@gmail.com
