Barnsley - Men who Fell at Gallipoli or died of wounds sustained there

Around 100 men originally from or connected to the Barnsley area (that we are aware of) fell at Gallipoli. Many are remembered on the Helles Memorial and have no known grave. A number of men can be shown to have died later in Greece or Egypt from wounds. Three Barnsley men who had emigrated to Australia and one from New Zealand are included. ----------- This community will gather them together. ---------------- If you are having trouble adding information to men in this Community on Lives of the First World War I would be happy to help. ----- Linda Hutton IWM Volunteer barnsleyhistorian@gmail.com
