Barnsley Police

A Roll of Honour has survived in Barnsley Police Station which lists 15 men who served and 2 who fell in WW1. Police rank and number are given along with regiment whether a man was awarded any medals or became a casualty of any kind. The framed 'certificate' style memorial is not situated in a public area and we are grateful for the assistance of the then District Commissioner for allowing us to view and photograph the memorial. ------- http://www.barnsleywarmemorials.org.uk/2014/05/barnsley-county-borough-police-ww1-roll.html ----- If you are having trouble adding information to men in this Community on Lives of the First World War I would be happy to help. ----- Linda Hutton IWM Volunteer barnsleyhistorian@gmail.com
