Women's Legion

The Women's Legion was begun in 1915 by Edith Vane-Tempest-Stewart, the Marchioness of Londonderry. It was comprised of volunteers who wore military-style uniforms and took on various duties within Agricultural, Canteen, Cookery and Motor Transport sections. More than 40,000 women joined its forces. Please contact me through Lives mail if you know of someone who belongs in this community.
