4th Loyal North Lancashire's Roll of Honour Film by Will Onda

These men all appear in the first Preston & District Roll of Honour film which was first shown in Will Onda's cinemas in Preston on 6th July 1915. The film was made to honour the 4th Battalion of the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment who sustained heavy casualties during the Festubert Charge on the 15th June 1915. The film features photographs of 18 members of the territorial battalion who were reported wounded, missing or killed. Will Onda made a series of Roll of Honour films which survive in the Preston/Will Onda Collection deposited by Preston Council in the National Film Archive (British Film Institute) in 1961. The research into these films is being led by Emma Heslewood from the Harris Museum & Art Gallery, as part of the Preston Remembers Project, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and supported by the BFI.
