Berkhamsted School

Berkhamsted School was founded in 1541. Many old boys from the school served in WW1. The school grew to 500 pupils in 1916 but in Nov 1914 the school magazine published the names of 360 Old Boys already serving. Over 230 names are inscribed on the school war memorial. This is a growing selection of OBs complied from various lists but some are known to me in other ways - including John Coleridge Mills of Yateley. I have also created LifeStories for many of those listed in the 1901 census as being contemporaries in a Junior School boarding house with the future General George Randolph Pearkes VC. All the names from Panel 1 and 2 of the school war memorial have been included.
